About UsOur MissionThe Web Gourmet©'s mission is to provide an easy and socialable way for people to share recipes with one another. Why?Because we are an instrument for change. Too many individuals suffer daily from being forced to eat bad food because they don't know how to cook anything else. Too many beginner chefs stare at cold laminated page of recipe books with heads full of question on where to begin. The Web Gourmet© puts a face behind the recipe, and realizes that after all, life is too short to eat bad food. Who are we:The Web Gourmet's founders are composed of seven hungry, tired and overworked Berkeley CS undergraduate students. Arisen out of the basic necessity to not displease their instructional masters, the Web Gourmet website has come quite far in terms of functionality and a trusted source to prevent the developers themselves from starving. The rest they say, is history.
Alvin is a mysterious tree-dwelling creature on the Web Gourmet development team. As an individual naturally adapt at searching and finding items proficiently, Alvin works primarily on the searching functionalities and many other algorithms used on the backend of our site.
Crystal is our primary developer for the front end of our website. Without her trusty crayon set and intuition for fashionable web design, our website would probably look like an excel spreadsheet.
Rae is a cheerful developer for the site that works primarily on developing menus, and shopping related features. She is another essential developer for the site, if not one of the few sane and happy ones.
Joe is the head developer of the Web Gourmet site, in charge of maintaining the server and many other backend services need to host the site. Joe also spends significant time developing new features for the site, such as the color-coded recipe entry features, and many other yummy features that make the site stand out.
Kenny is a quiet developer that works meticulously at developing the social aspect of the site as well as the database backend, which are both clearly essential parts of The Web Gourmet that distinguishes us from the rest.
Vladimir is another one of brilliant developers working on the site. He focuses primarily upon the site's backend, maintaining the database tables, deciphering recipes, and other administrative tasks. He hears and sees everything you do on the site.
Yu-Hung is a interesting developer for the site. On top of eating various pages and cookies on the site (generating your page 404 errors), he also works on new features for the site, and various other functionalities. Wise words from our founders:"Eat well, be happy" |
